UCSB Bite is one of those projects that you hop into thinking, "oh I don't like this, I'll make my own it will
just take a couple of hours", and then spend the next month in your own personal development hell. Despite that,
it has been an incredibly rewarding project that has taught me so much about headless browsers and web-scraping.
The project serves a very import purpose personally, as it allows me to easily and reliably filter out cafeteria
foods that I may be allergic to, and read the ingredients myself on a case-by-case basis.
This app began it's development when I went to check out the cafeteria menu website on my phone, and found
that it was nearly impossible to use from a mobile device if you wanted to sort out your allegens, despite
the feature existing on desktop. It was merely inaccessible on mobile. And so, I set out on making a cleaner app that
could organize it all in an easy major, while also maintaining allergy filters and ingredients lists. While I am very
happy with the design, and how I made a glass modifier, there are some logic things that I may come back and redo some day.
I had never used a headless browser before, and this certainly was not the one I should have started with,
but hey... I got the job done!
